Web Designer/Developer (Job #0801292) 

This position is responsible for the design, development and implementation of web sites and applications for Information Technology at Purdue. The Web Designer/Developer will work as part of a team to develop innovative web strategies through the incorporation of modern web designs and interactive media. In addition, this position will work closely with client areas to identify needs and develop creative solutions focused on marketing ‎and communications. This position also involves staying current with emerging web technologies and recommending design and development techniques that will enhance the online promotion of Purdue's Discovery Park.

Qualifications

Required:

·         Bachelor's degree.

·         One year experience with modern web design methodologies.

·         Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.

·         The ability to provide creative designs built on a well-based and thoroughly articulated design rational.

·         Working knowledge of defining and implementing user interface designs that promote usability and universal accessibility.

·         Effective consulting, presentation, influencing, collaboration, and time-management skills.

·         A working understanding of cross-browser/platform web development issues.

·         Must be creative and comfortable learning and using new technologies.

·         Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to design, propose, and manage multiple projects independently and consistently to meet tight deadlines with quality results in an extremely fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics Technology, Informatics, Art and Design, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

·         Strong understanding of CSS based layout and current web design/development standards.

·         Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Flash/ActionScript.
